If you had to guess, what percentage of your Facebook followers see your page’s posts? 50%?
20%? Could it be as low as 10%? According to research on organic reach, most brands see about a 2.2% reach to their followers.
Put another way, for every 1000 followers your page earns, 22 of them will see your posts.
That’s right, 22 out of 1000!
I don’t know about your center, but when we learned about that we dramatically reduced the resources dedicated to organic social media. Instead we diverted almost all of our time and budget to the paid side, for both our center and our clients’ centers.
There’s a place for organic social. It’s great for posting pictures when a customer bowls 300 or if you need to modify hours suddenly. But as far as getting a message out and marketing yourself, it’s not even close.
Facebook’s stance today is pretty clear: You have to pay to play.
But believe it or not, if you’re smart about your message and targeting, it doesn’t cost nearly as much as you think. However, it’s a little too long for a single email.
If you’re interested in expanding paid social media for your center, feel free to reach out. We’re always happy to help other centers, no obligation.
