One of our favorite proprietors, Mark Bares came on Striking Success recently. In addition to running his center in Wisconsin, a family of 9 and a consulting company, he also runs the Summer Bowl Pass program.
During the interview he talked about how, in his experience, giving bowling away for free waters down its value and doesn’t always attract the best customers. Instead, he created a program that still provides families with a lot of value, but attracts ideal customers. Here’s an excerpt:
“Bowling has value and we have to make sure it keeps value. Look at getting your best customers coming in the door, people who have money and are willing to spend it at your center. Focus on those people, because if you focus on everybody and just getting as many people as possible to come in your door…staff burn out, your facility takes a beating, it’s rough.”
